Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) has renamed their H-80 100 MW class, heavy-duty, high-efficiency gas turbine to the H-100, though the design is unchanged. MHPS changed the product name to more accurately reflect the rated capacity class of the prime mover.
The efficient, two-shaft H-100 is sold in a packaged design for quick site construction in simple cycle, combined cycle, cogeneration, or mechanical drive applications.
The H-Series of gas turbines also includes the H-25 (28-42 MW) and the H-50 (50 MW), which the company expects to introduce in 2016. A pilot model H-50 has been in operation since 2012. The company said that to date there are 199 H-Series gas turbines in operation or under contract with over 5 million hours of operation.
