FlexEnergy has received an order for two GT333S microturbine generators to power an industrial facility in Puerto Rico. Tetrad Energy, FlexEnergy’s distributor for Puerto Rico will own and operate the system as part of a power purchase agreement with the industrial customer.
Mark Schnepel, President and Chief Executive Officer of FlexEnergy, said, “Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region is an important part of our companies strategic growth plan. This geographic region is a good fit for our products as electric rates continue to increase and the price of propane and natural gas fuels remain at all time lows.”
The customer was looking for an energy solution that would improve their reliability, while also reducing their monthly energy costs. The two propane-fueled GT333S turbines will be installed in a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system designed to provide electric power to the facilities while using the exhaust energy to generate steam.
