Mexican national power company Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) has released a list of generation facilities to be tendered in 2013. CFE will issue calls for three combined cycle plants and one large-scale hydro by year-end, according to a press release from the state-owned utility.
The next tenders to be issued are: 660MW Centro II combined cycle in Morelos state; 225MW Chicoasén II hydro in Chiapas state; 601MW Valle de México II in Mexico state; and 1,034MW Noreste in Nuevo León state. All installed capacity estimates come from CFE’s power sector works and investment plan (POISE) from 2012 and are subject to change when the call is issued.
The eight tenders announced by CFE recently include four projects for which it has already issued calls: 7MW Guerrero Negro IV fuel oil-fired thermo; 25MW Los Humeros III phase A geothermal plant; 41.3MW Baja California Sur V fuel oil-fired thermo; and 790MW Norte III combined cycle. Notable omissions from the list of upcoming tenders are the 100MW Rumorosa III wind farm in Baja California state; 700MW Topolobampo II in Sinaloa state; and 304MW Sureste IV wind farm in Oaxaca state.
